Rena Joy Poetry
Poet
Lending my voice until
you find your own.
Rena Joy is an adoptee from foster care and mental health advocate with lived experience. She uses poetry as an avenue for healing and connection. Her debut ALMOST LOVED follows a former foster child’s search for love, connection and belonging while pushing back on the labels assigned to her at birth. Grappling with subjects of abuse, mental health, and deeply held grief this collection aims to answer: what does it truly mean to be loved in a world where you're seen as second best?
